Another week passed by

• Weight: 58,5 kg • Measurements history linked below • Max. daytime temperature: 22° C • Weather: Fair, extremely humid, rainy...

On Thursday, I've finally got my homeopathic remedies... and for the second day, I was trying to get into the rhythm of taking them at the right time & pace. Not obvious therefore I've asked Mr. Cornet for preciser instructions how to handle them. Hope I'll get it into my system soon. Why I'm still awake? I forgot about taking all the remedies, so I'm handling that now, as well as laundry... ;-)

A Month After

• Weight: 57,5 kg • Measurements history linked below • Max. daytime temperature: 26° C • Weather: Fair & extremely humid

This week, I've finally got the report of my latest ultrasound check-up. Well, my birthday's wish wasn't really fulfilled, although my juice fasting cure had some (measu
rable) effects on my thyroid, maybe also a bit on its nodule. No matter that this doctor wrote measurements slightly different than the previous one (in the same hospital), it's clear that nodule is still there and hasn't changed much (slight decrease might be just a result of precision differences), but my goiter decreased for quite some millimeters, even centimeters! Yesssss! Actually, this "indifferent" doctor wrote in her report that my goiter has increased, although, double checking the measurements on both reports clearly shows that it has actually decreased since April! Unbelievably schlampig & irresponsible!!!

Well, heading towards 100 % raw food lifestyle might work just fine for me, my health issue & in the long run, but it looks like I'd better go on fasting cure again, this time really following Breuss' by letter, for better & faster results... Well, let's wait with it until after our vacation, until mid September.
Senad, please keep in touch & wait with operation! Wishing you the easiest & most effective breussing!!! Good luck!

And on Wednesday, I had an appointment with apparently the best radiesthesist homeopath in Belgium (who's living near Mons). I'm still digesting it... and waiting for the homeopathic medicines to arrive by mail.

PS: Senad wrote a comment on my previous post.

Interesting morning. I woke up before 4 a.m. Because of the rain shower? Most probably as I was not covered & had cold as room temperature dropped. Well, no matter the reason, I couldn't felt asleep again, so here I am; with delicious Charentais melon bites.

Yap, it's true that our after dinner discussion with a professional (Berry's ex-colleague) - who will take over at least leveling & plastering of all walls & ceilings - was energetic and promising, but when they left to check the site, I had an urge to... smoke a cigarette!!! For the very first time since 21st May when I smoked my last one!!! I know, that can be dangerous... It might also happened because of my first cooked meal after such a long time, who knows... Ugh! I don't like it. And I don't want to restart smoking!!!

After dinner, we were watching quite good cam version of Iron Man 2 (2010), eating popcorn (!), and in the middle of it, somewhere after 21h, I got so tired I was obliged to go to bed. I was asleep very fast. Hmmm, was I eating too much (spaghetti plate) or too heavy (sushis) or I shouldn't touch popcorn yet? Was it because of this heavy weather or something else? No clue...

A Day After

I'm really proud of myself to make it through 42 days (6 weeks) of drinking only herbal teas (mostly not tasting really good), and completely filtered, clear, fresh, home made fruit & veggie juices! My health issue and numerous Breuss Cancer Cure success stories were the reason I went on a fast. I didn't really manage breussing, I pretty soon switched to juice fasting instead, but I kept drinking (
almost until the end of my cure) all herbal teas that Breuss recommended (five teas for all cases & two for thyroid issues).

I haven't been drinking coffee since the first day of my juice fasting cure = 43 days; and I don't miss it. I quit smoking cigarettes during the first day of my cure = 42 days tobacco free; and I don't miss them. Berry is not smoking at home since early beginning of my cure, which is a great byproduct (we both were smoking at home the most, especially during evenings & in front of PCs), and he has no tobacco for some days now... And since yesterday, my old savings account is heavier for 192,70 € which equals 41 packs of Marlboro Light purchased in Belgium (at the end of June).

Yap, I became lighter (not only concerning my weight) and skinnier; my sense of smell and taste increased; I feel mentally clearer; my mood improved (if we don't take into account some mood crisis moments towards the end of the cure)... but my face definitely looks older now. Lost weight resulted in wrinkles with less "base", therefore they became more obvious, deeper. Well, I was laughing a lot in my life, n'est pas, and I have some wrinkles to prove that for sure!

I had a delicious orange juice for break-fast (served by Berry; first non-filtered one after 42 days!), an awesome melon juice for my morning snack, and as dreaming for few days, I had a delicious smoothie for my first non-liquid meal: fresh mango & raspberries! When I got 400 ml of this smoothie, it was obvious that the quantity was way to large for my first lunch, therefore I split it, and had another half later in the afternoon.

Well, I was quite worried about what & how much to eat after fasting, but I feel that my body will continue to be really talkative regarding that as well, so I'll loosen up... ;-) Ugh, I just don't know when to have that popcorn I was so stubbornly dreaming about & strongly smelling in my head each time we were watching movies... ;-))

Hmmm... since this morning, I have again that interesting sensation it's so difficult to describe. Briefly, something is happening in my neck, in the lower part of thyroid area, on the right side where the nodule was. It's the same kind of sensation as the one I had a while ago, for more than a week in the middle of June. No, it doesn't hurt, far from that, it feels like a sort of a permanent scratching, a kind of permanent pressure of something on something. We'll see & know more soon.

Later, I was doing sushi for our dinner - finely mixed raw veggies instead of rice (kohlrabi, carrots, sesame & sunflower seeds), tomato sauce with fresh parsley, basil & spices, and fair slices of salmon or cod in the middle. Delicious & strange at the same time. And then, another dream of mine! For the whole week, I had a terrible lust for avocados but one can't juice them, so I needed to wait... Therefore, I've made Avocado gazpacho today! A bit milder as normally, to spare my digestion system, but it was just heavenly! Bottom line, during the whole evening, I drank carrot juice, ate three sushis and two small portions of gazpacho. All is fine but I do think it might have been a bit too early for me to eat raw fish, despite such a little quantity. D'accord, I fed two of my three "pending hungers" but I'll continue "softer" on my body.

• Non-filtered fruit juices: Orange & grapefruit juice (310 ml), Charentais melon juice (200 ml, together with foam)
• Non-filtered veggie juice: Carrot juice (400 ml)
• My first day food: Smoothie of a ripe mango & two handfuls of frozen raspberries (2x 200 ml), 3 small sushies & avocado gazpacho (2x 200 ml)
• Special treat: Berry moisturized my entire body... and was almost late for dentist at 8:30 ;-)
• Max. daytime temperature: 33° C • Weather: Sunny, HOT, fair, sunny, humid...

Breaking a fast

Breuss recommendations:

• slowly start to eat salt reduced & light food again
• for 2-3 weeks, continue drinking approx. 60 ml of my juice per day (before meals, by the spoonful)

Fasting FAQ: How do I break the fast?
Tom Coghill: "Carefully! Slowly! Breaking a fast is harder than fasting. Old patterns of indulgence and compulsive eating can return with a vengeance when you restart to eat. If you dream about pizza during a fast, you will be overcome by a “pizza urge” after you break the fast. Be careful what foods you think of during a fast. Over eating will cause pain as the body needs to wake up from the fasting state gradually. For a 30 days after fasting, continue to juice then eat small amounts of fruits and raw vegetables. Increase the amount as the body becomes hungrier. Wait 5 days before eating any cooked or protein food. Chew your food and maintain your peace."

Fasting FAQ: What should I eat after the fast?
Tom Coghill: "The post treatment diet is crucial to maintain your recovery, especially for cancer patients. The diet should be eighty percent raw fruits and vegetables. The best protein is egg white with only one yoke per day. Nuts are good if chewed well. Soybean is excellent. Boiled or baked fish (do not eat river fish commercially grown). Chicken is a good source of protein. To prepare meat and chicken, cut off the fats then boil it and pour off the fat. Stop eating processed oils and fried foods! The post cancer diet is 140 days including periodic shorter fasts. For most other chronic diseases, the post treatment diet period is 60 days. After that, you can eat more cooked or processed food or stay on the post treatment diet for life and enjoy vigorous health during retirement."

Day 42 - My Last Juice Fasting Day

I made it!!! It's the very last day of my cure! Juice fasting for 42 days! I'm really proud of myself! Le chapeau, Aïda!

It's also the last measurements day of my first ever juice fasting cure, and weight was gladly supervised by my dear hubby. During 41 days, I've lost a bit more than 10 kg (not too much at all - I've just got my ex-ideal weight of 55 kg again), 11 cm around my waist, and most probably 8-10 cm around my buttocks. ;-) By the way, would someone explain to me how could a woman's waist of 60 cm be an ideal measure, as I'm really skinny & looking just great at 75 cm already! N'importe quoi!

Otherwise, I need to underline that during the whole cure, I didn't miss smoking cigarettes (their smoke bothers me & our home became "no smoking zone" in-between), and I didn't miss drinking coffee at all. Therefore, those of you who would like to quit smoking (or anything else), juice fasting for a week or two could most probably help you with your intention, and at the same time, you'd detoxify your entire body. Worth trying, even more as during summer, there is so much fruits & veggies available.

Morning was busy with psy & food shopping (almost only veggies & fruits). In the early afternoon, I paid a brief visit to my hubby at work (with pieces of my raw mango cake for his colleagues & a piece for him), mainly because I wanted him to make some decent photos of lovely new me on the last day of my cure... ;-) Honey, seriously, you'd need to practice more! ;-))

Back home, I tried to make some photos of myself, again... ;-( Whatever!!! To me, all new photos have the same bizarre look & effect as those on Day 40... but what the heck... I wished to show you how I look like on the last day of my juice fasting cure! By the way, I've put on my lovely new Benetton dress, size 34, for which I assume it won't suit me for long (Mateja, you can count on a new non-black dress).

Weight: 54,8 kg (said Berry ;-) • Waist: 75 cm • Low hips: 90 cm

Day 41

Ugh, that's a busy day & one before the last one... ;-) Up at 6:45, tired; lunch bag for Berry; shower & moisturizing; my hubby made my orange juice & moisturized my skin; goodbye hug & kiss; clothes on; out, driving my Corsa to her yearly maintenance; walking back home for some "dental calculations" in order to decide how to proceed with restoration of my teeth; dentist appointment; back home for a mid morning juice; out again, this time to my "yesterday's RDV" with my gineco for a regular yearly checkup (I was waiting for it almost 2 hours); back home well after two o'clock, greeting Aida, showing her around (she's replacing Sonia, our cleaning lady, who's on vacation 'til August) ... and out again, not to be under her feet. Where to? No clue.

I was not going far, just walking through the main Brussels shopping area (we live right next to it), trying on some shorts but finally bought nothing; apart of two body butters at Body Shop as my skin is still reddish, my dentifrice & breakfast bread for Berry. Opel Bert called me before five and I picked up my Corsita soon afterwards. Back home, I decided to make my first raw food cake ever, despite all. When I was putting it together (mixed almonds & dates as a cake base (dough), mango smoothie on it, and raspberries for decoration), Veerle finally called back. I invited her to come over in the evening, to try this - hopefully delicious - cake & see her at least for a while. Berry was late (again), but he got a mixed salad (mix of young salad leaves with ruccola, spinach & finely cut tomatoes, as well as pinons, pumpkin seeds & baroque dressing) with small toasted tempeh chunks (natural & smoked) for dinner anyway. ;-) Observing him, I could see & say it was delicious, kissing him, I could also taste at least a bit of my salad dressing. ;-) When Veerle, came soon after eight, I repeated mixed salad exercise for her too. We were talking about a lot & about all but mainly about us, I didn't forget to serve my newly discovered mango cake (apparently delicious - I'll be able to try a tinny piece of it tomorrow), and we just continued with our interesting, vivid & at times touching discussion almost until midnight. I really liked it!

• Humor: Moderate • Feeling: Worn out but OK • Hungry: No

• Fruit juices: Orange & grapefruit juice (280 ml), red raisins juice (400 ml)
• Veggie juices: Carrot juice (350 ml), tomatoes, green pepper, spinach, young onions, basil, thyme, parsley & garlic clove (400 ml)
• Photo above: Midnight moon from our bedroom (by Berry)
• Walking: Four hours for sure • Special treats: Berry moisturized almost my entire body
Max. daytime temperature: 27° C • Weather: Fair, cloudy, sunny, fair... night.

Day 40

Wow, it was precisely 5:55 a.m. when I came to our kitchen! Another sunny day, smoggy as well. This is really awful in Brussels: we eventually get more sunny days in a row (unbelievable), and than smog cover just gets thicker & thicker, so we have less and less air, as well as less and less sun, but it's getting hotter & more humid... Anyway, my teas were done first; no juice for breakfast as I need to leave some blood in the lab before 9; lunch bag for my hubby; who later moisturized everything before leaving for work, not only my skin... ;-) C'mon, it's hard to resist, sometimes literally impossible. Which is definitely cool. We all could & should make love more often, as well as go with a flow regularly. Well, no complaints, today started in a perfect manner indeed!

Some browsing & blogging before walking to the lab & back home where plumber needed my assistance for few minutes; and than to the Post office to pick up my copy of just published revised edition of  Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom that each adult woman should read & have at home (I gave its first edition to Sara). I went back home, to deposit this heavy book, turned around right away, and went to my gynaecologist; only to find out that my RDV was cancelled but they couldn't reach me (wrong phone number in their database) - postponed only until tomorrow. Nope, no pre-sales shopping, resting at home was what I really needed; so much action & walking before 11 a.m., and no breakfast nor juice, made me tired.

Exhausted, I was also feeling quite blue in the early afternoon... so I went for a sure mood boost and let Kathy made my hair fresh & curly! I felt better even before I left the hairdresser salon where she works. And back home, I really liked my smiley, slightly tanned face in the mirror, so I decided to take some photos of it; if for nothing else, for this blog. What, Sara was and is doing that all the time, why couldn't I try as well, with this sophisticated Berry's camera? ;-) Wow, I was seriously surprised! Not in a good way. I was browsing & staring at twenty photos in a complete unsettling disbelief, and I had some hard time to chose the one that looked less awful to me. Who is this old lady with a big nose?!? OK, sun was into my face, but... Ugh, do I really look that old?!? All the time? At nearly & only 46? Even before I lost 11 kilos and before my fasting cure? Anyway, I have quite a different picture of my face in my mind & I look back at me with a different face from mirrors: with a lighter, smoother, younger face, and I don't see nor feel me as old as I look here. What have I missed?! I need a hug!!!
PS: Know what? When Berry came home I showed him those photos. He said that he hasn't that kind of face in front of him, that he doesn't see me like that neither, and that none of them should be publicly shared, so I decided to remove that awful photo. Mateja, your photos are the best!

You know, I'm glad my fasting cure ends in two days! Otherwise I'd need to end it beforehand. I have had it! I have enough! I have enough of herbal teas (I dropped four of them already few days ago) and purest juices possible! I have enough of only liquid for some time! And at this point, I'll keep it going only out of sheer stubbornness. I so miss tasting food, eating & chewing you can't even imagine; when I make juices, I dream of fruit pieces melting in my mouth; since yesterday, I'm planning dinners for Berry but I simply can't make them (he went out to fetch him two kebabs & fries today), although, lunch bags are still OK (for tomorrow, I've made him four sandwiches with herring & onion, and he'll chose a box of fruit he'll prefer); I miss cooking food for our chatting lunches & dinners side by side; I miss eating out & am eager to finally have a lovely dinner at Tan; my humor is like yo-yo but basically going downwards; my energy level seems to hit the bottom... All I'd like to do around noons is to return to bed, sleep all over... and cheerfully wake up into one sunny after-fasting day, without goiter & with nodule free thyroid gland! Amen!

• Humor: Good (in the morning) • Feeling: Quite fine (in the morning) • Hungry: No
• Herbal teas: Sage tea and pimpernel leaves tea • Fruit juices: Pineapple juice (290 ml), watermelon juice (650 ml)

Day 39

Up at seven; lunch box for my hubby; moisturizing my sunburned body; goodbye hug & kiss; my teas & orange juice; some chores; and until dentist, laptopping a bit and reading a great & entertaining book I've started yesterday, The Female Brain...

Back from dentist for a fresh juice, and out for some chores & shopping. Kathy (my hairdresser, young, lovely & kind Turkish woman) wasn't working today, so I might go curly tomorrow... ;-) Two and a half hours later, I came back home with some new goodies, just in time to turn around for a RDV with a control dentist at work. He approved all works that dr. Kosa (our dentist) put on her quotation. Cool. And bloody expensive. Ugh, I'll see how to handle all these reconstruction works & how to combine them with my other dentist in Brežice. Not an easy one; the choice & planning of this. Afterward, I was slowly walking back home, enjoying this hot summer afternoon, checking few shops bu I bought only spinach for our veggie juice. Result? I was exhausted. And couldn't do anything any more. No energy for Berry's dinner either. Lady, you'd still need to pace slower & less at times...

• Humor: Moderate • Feeling: Tired & a bit blue • Hungry: No
• Herbal teas: St. John's wort, peppermint & balm tea mix, and pimpernel leaves tea
• Fruit juices: Orange & grapefruit juice (210 ml), watermelon juice (700 ml)

Day 38

Awake at 6, out of bed a bit later; laundry; my orange juice by Berry; cooking his lunch (veggie steaks & common beans in a salad) as we're going with bikes to Cadzand; my teas; snack bags for Berry at work (pecan nuts, pistachios, salted cashew nuts); shower & all; walking to & from Marché du Midi with a lot of fruits & veggies. When back home, I was already quite tired after that two and a half hours walk, therefore we decided to go to the coast without bikes & just enjoy a day & company of each other. Berry made my juices, I packed our stuff, and we left a bit after noon. We came back before 22h, after a great, sunny, hot & zen afternoon on the Cadzand beach which resulted in my red skin almost all over (Berry has only a reddish face), it hurts a bit as well, but despite that I feel great & relaxed. It's obvious I'm not used to regular sunbathing at the beach any longer. It's been nine years since my last seaside vacation (living a year in Alicante in Spain doesn't count - it's not entirely the same as being on vacation)!!! Well, if my skin recovers until 1st July (which I doubt a bit), I might return to the same beach to celebrate the last day of my fasting cure... ;-)

Day 37 & 5 days to go

Good morning around 7 a.m.; shower; wiping water off my body, I discovered a patch of urticaria on my arm (?!); my teas & orange juice; moisturizing; some chores, blogging & waiting for two geobiologists' visit (géobiologie) to check our tinny apartment. They came on time, checked thoroughly the place, were surprised that the apartment was so "clean" & quite energetic, and all they've installed were three "geomag" blockers (one for our electrical system, one to block pulsing of RTBL antenna, and one to block pulsing of a nearby mobile phone base station). I felt the effect right away - the energy level in the apartment quite increased. Hopefully that won't disturb us too much nor our sleep within next few days. And while chatting, I was reminded that I could regularly reiki clean what they can't handle nor block: influences that come from people living in the building (!), below, above & next to our apartment. Ugh! Why do we so often keep forgetting about beneficial stuff we know and it works or useful skills we've acquired?! I tend to hope it's not just laziness... ;-)

Later, we went out to buy three radiators and to stop at Berry's house to fetch some tools & stuff he needs at renovation site. While Berry was searching for all what's needed, I was picking lavender & daisies into two lovely bouquets... ;-) We made a stop at Bio Planet store as Berry wanted to see where & how it is, and bought some delicious goodies for him. When coming out of it, I was struck with a stomachache & I realized I was hungry. And a slight headache installed when we were driving home. Shall I stop this fasting few days before foreseen? Or not? Doubts, those persistent tinny doubts whether I'm doing the right thing etc... Coming home, my attentive hubby made me a delicious carrot juice that fought stomachache right away, and headache evaporated soon afterwards. Berry was eating dinner he made & browsing for "new" movies, I was reading old Slovenian magazines. Later, he made me another juice & we were scotched to our laptops for few hours. Until we finally decided not to watch a movie but rather go to bed before 23h.

Day 36

Kisses woke me up around 6... but I stayed tucked in for a half an hour more; olive oil pulling when making my teas as - ugh - there was no hot water to take a shower (third time in a month); lunch box for my hubby (cauliflower with a delicious dressing & three small, juicy & nyami sandwiches); goodbye hug & kisses; shower; pondering over whether I really have a toothache or this tooth is just not settled yet; FB & blogging... Hey, it's a measurements day, and Berry left already! Cool, 10 kilos less in 35 days... It's not too much off; still in "health line"! I really like this side effect of my juice fasting cure... ;-)

Nowadays, I might be a false blond indeed... but I have the impression that some things just stay impregnated in one's life... ;-) Go figure, I needed almost the whole cure - more than thirty days - to realize that leftovers, foam & particles of my fruit juices could be used for at least facial masques. C'mon, not when Berry is at home, let's keep some stuff entirely private, but... ;-) Raisins' foam was on first, some pineapple mousse landed on my face later. And I cleaned my tongue in-between. Good girl! ;-)

Nothing special during rather cozy evening: fine dinner for my coming-home-late-hubby (carrot juice, veggie steaks & huge bowl of diverse green leaves with a delicious dressing), nice chat, veggie juice for both, as well as cuddling while watching quite poetic movie with a great soundtrack before going to bed around 23h - The Straight Story (1999). Wishing you a good night!

Day 35 & one week to go

Awake around 5:30, out of bed before 6; shower & moisturizing; lunch bag for my hubby & my sage tea;  a map for Berry to get to Micheline & his first lymphatic drainage massage; my orange juice by him; clothes on; goodbye hug & kisses; blogging; greeting Sonia; some browsing & out to a busy day.

A quick shopping at Brico (support stick for my huge no-name plant with gorgeous leaves), an early appointment with my psy (back to work in July, part time), quick  food shopping at GB on my way to another appointment, to RDV with our control doctor at work (she doesn't let me come back to work on 1st July yet), and a quick, relaxing chat with a smoking Nat afterwards (I really miss her company, our talks & our laughter). In the meantime, Berry was SMSing me where I was. Bizarre (we rarely call or SMS one another). Only until my call back, around noon, when I was already driving home, when he was "obliged" to tell me... that he took a day off. Surprise! At such a busy day of mine? I love it & I love the way he handled it (he loved massage, his lymph is running smoothly; he was at Makro, checked our renovation site as well, and ate some stuff from lunch bag at home... but afterwards, he was getting lonely)! You bet I was "running" home! ;-) Later, after we made two juices for me (one for my lunch & one as my takeaway), we went together for my long awaited walk with Veerle & her dog. Along Brussels's canal, hot & sunny summer day, great company & an easygoing, fine chat. Back home, it became clear that these events & contents were too much for me today - at only 16h, I was feeling exhausted & completely drained. Moderation? Ugh...

• Humor: Moderate • Feeling: Fine • Hungry: No... although I'd really love to eat & chew!!!
• Herbal tea: Sage tea • Fruit juices: Orange juice (280 ml), Charentais melon juice (230 ml), apple juice (420 ml)

• Walking: More than 2 ½ hours (with Veerle, her Sluffer & Berry)
Special treat: Berry moisturized almost my entire body; interlaced & satisfied before a good night sleep... ;-)
